THE TOOLKIT

The practical layer of The Humanual, kept current.

Every checklist, script, schedule, emergency card, and self-assessment the five books describe lives here, one tool per page, each written to print on a single sheet. The books point at this one address so the tools can stay current with the science, the hotlines, and the law while the books stay put.

What is on the shelf

Two kinds of page live here. The first are the reference appendices from the back of the five volumes, reproduced as printed, so you can stick them to a fridge instead of holding a book open with a jar of pickles. The second were written for the Toolkit alone: the tools the books describe, point at, or promise, in a form the books could not hold, because a hotline number or a screening age set in ink is wrong within a year.

Every page is built to print on one sheet, to be read in a hurry by someone who has not slept, and to show the date it was last checked, which is more than can be said for most of what you were told growing up. New pages are added as they are finished; the list below is always the current one.

If you would like a nudge when new pages land, leave an email below. You will get one message per batch and nothing else. That is the entire mailing list policy, and it is printed here so that it cannot quietly change.

The books are the manual. This is the glove box.

If you arrived here from a page in one of the volumes and the tool it named is not listed above yet, it is on the way. Everything the page promised is in the book’s own appendices until then.

Frequently Panicked Questions

The ones about the Toolkit itself.

What is the Humanual Toolkit?

The Humanual Toolkit is the practical layer of The Humanual, the five-volume owner’s manual for being a human from Good Work Press. Every checklist, script, schedule, self-assessment and emergency card the books describe lives here, one tool per page, each written to print on a single sheet.

Is it free?

Yes. Every tool is free to read, print and photocopy, and there is no email wall in front of any of it. The email field on this page sends one message when a new batch of pages goes up, nothing else.

Is it open yet?

Yes. Every page that is live is listed on this page, and new ones are added as they are finished. Each shows the date it was last checked.

Why is it online instead of in the books?

Because hotlines, guidelines and laws change and printed books do not. The books point at one address so the tools can stay current with the science, the numbers and the law. Every page will carry a reviewed date, and health, crisis and legal pages get a fixed review cadence.

Is this medical, legal or psychological advice?

No. It is a well-organised summary of what the evidence and current guidelines say, written for adults in plain English. The emergency pages tell you when to call for help, and they mean it. If you need help right now, the numbers are at the bottom of this page.

If you need help right now: in the US call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline); in the UK and Ireland call Samaritans on 116 123; anywhere in the EU dial 112 for emergencies. The full list, by country, with text options and hours, is at crisis lines by country.
